DJ AM series to be shown on MTV

A programme filmed by DJ AM before his death is to air on MTV.

The musician, real name Adam Goldstein, died of an accidental drug overdose at his New York apartment on 28 August at the age of 36.

Gone Too Far will be broadcast in the States from Monday 12 October, with permission from the his relatives.

The eight-part series sees DJ AM help fans battle their addictions.

‘It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others,' reads a statement from the family.

‘The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.'
