Janet Jackson: Mum would leave me in charge of Michael

Singer used to carry out sibling's chores

Janet Jackson is the youngest member of the Jackson siblings

Janet Jackson was responsible for looking after brother Michael when she was a teen – even though he was older.

The 43-year-old - the youngest of the Jackson clan - used to take care of the star’s chores.

‘When I was 14 years old, I would shop for him,’ Janet  tells Harper’s Bazaar. 'I washed his clothes, cleaned his room.

‘When mother would go out of town, she'd say, “I'm leaving you in charge. Take care of Mike.”

'I would head home from school, see what he needed, then go straight to the stores.’
