Terri Seymour was left shaken after the incident

Terri Seymour has won a restraining order against a woman who tried to choke her.

Janice Thibodeaux must stay away from Simon Cowell’s ex for three years.

The 33-year-old was sentenced to three years probation for misdemeanour battery for attacking the TV presenter after the American Idol final in May.

‘It was all so sudden... very scary,’ Terri said at the time of the attack. ‘Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.

‘She came over to me and said, “You're that girl from TV, right?” And I said, “Yeah.”...The next thing I know, this woman had me in a headlock and tried to choke me.’

Terri, 35, split from Simon, 49, last summer after six years.
