SHOCK! Coronation Street’s Bill Tarmey: I’m virtually deaf

Actor now has hearing aids

Bill Tarmey and Liz Dawn are Coronation Street legends

Coronation Street star Bill Tarmey is using state-of-the-art ear equipment because he’s almost completely lost his hearing.

‘I have 80% deafness in my right and 70% in my left,’ says the actor, 68. ‘I am virtually deaf.’

But Bill, who plays Jack Duckworth on the ITV soap, says his new high-tech hearing aids are a marvel.

‘I can hear again – it’s brilliant. They are like little earwigs that fit inside the ear,’ he tells the News Of The World.

‘You can barely see them and I can hear properly again.’
