Amy Winehouse passes out in St Lucia

Singer faints and is taken to hospital

Amy Winehouse is trying to work on new material in St Lucia

Amy Winehouse was taken to hospital after passing out on the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

She fainted after reportedly playing an energetic game with local children.

The 23-year-old 'was dehydrated and needed to drink more water', her spokesman has confirmed.

Amy, who was kept under observation overnight, is still hoping to perform at the St Lucia jazz festival, which starts today and continues until 10 May.

Her mum Janis is due to arrive this weekend to keep an eye on her troubled daughter. Amy's dad Mitch returned to the UK last week.
