Jennifer Aniston has had enough of being ignored

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are heading for splitsville after a shambolic holiday in Mexico, NOW can exclusively reveal.

According to our source, the couple – who spent the New Year in Jen’s favourite holiday destination Los Cabos – are on shaky ground because John, 31, refused to spend quality time with her while there and even booked himself into another villa nearby.

‘Jen was distressed for most of her time in Mexico because John was more interested in hanging out with his brothers Carl and Ben than with her,’ says our source.

‘At first, she was happy for him to invite them because her friends, including Courteney Cox and Sheryl Crow, were coming along and she thought: “The more the merrier.” But once it became apparent that John wanted it to be a boys’ holiday and she was secondary, she got very upset.

‘She couldn’t believe that he chose to spend most nights in the villas Carl and Ben rented elsewhere in the resort, leaving her on her own. She was really embarrassed because he made no effort to keep up appearances for the sake of her friends.’

The 39-year-old actress was seen cutting a lonely figure most days, sunbathing without John and looking forlorn. ‘She looked really sad,’ said a fellow guest.

To make matters worse, John ended up leaving Mexico early, on 2 January, even though he’d promised he’d stay until Jen left.

As we exclusively revealed a few months ago, Jen and John secretly agreed to have an ‘open relationship’ in order to give the commitment-phobic singer some space. But now it seems that arrangement is finally taking its toll.

John, who’s said to be in talks for his own chat show with US network CBS, apparently loves the publicity he’s getting from being with Jen.

‘He doesn’t receive half as much attention on his own. So even though he acts like he’s this elusive, private character, there’s a part of him that loves it,’ says our source.

‘Jen’s friends don’t trust him. She’s desperate to make it work with him after Mexico, but now she’s having her doubts, too.'
