Hollyoaks' Kris Fisher sings Celtic version of Kings Of Leon track

Gerard McCarthy - who plays Kris Fisher on Hollyoaks - is pleased with the finished track

Hollyoaks’ Gerard McCarthy is set to perform a Celtic version of Kings Of Leon’s song Use Somebody.

His character Kris Fisher performs the routine at his brother Malachy’s (Glenn Wallace) wedding to Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe).

‘It's a Celtic version, which we had a lot of trouble doing. It was quite funny really,’ he tells Digital Spy.

‘When I turned up to rehearsal I thought I'd be getting the Kings Of Leon - with the bass guitarist, drummer and maybe keyboard.

'Instead, I had an acoustic guitar, a violin and a Bodhrán drum and I thought: “What is this?” Only then did they tell me that I'd be doing an Irish version!’

‘Everyone's so happy with it, though. I really, really like it.’

The will-they-wont-they wedding will be screened during the week-long special Hollyoaks Later, which begins tonight on E4 at 10pm.
