BBC TV presenter will lose 12 weeks' pay
Friday, 31 October 2008
Jonathan Ross has been dropped by the BBC for 12 weeks.
The TV presenter has been suspended without pay for his 'utterly unacceptable' on-air taunting of Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs.
Jonathan appeared as a guest on Russell Brand's Radio 2 show and the pair left obscene comments about Georgina Baillie - Andrew's granddaughter - on the veteran actor's answerphone.
One of the highest paid entertainers on the box, the 47-year-old will lose an estimated £1.3 million of his salary.
BBC 1's Friday Night with Jonathan Ross has been cancelled, his Radio 2 Saturday morning radio show has been taken out of the schedules and he will not present Wednesay night's Film 2008.
Russell Brand resigned yesterday after being suspended and yesterday Lesley Douglas, Controller of BBC Radio 2, has also quit over the controversy.

WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM SIMILAR MINDED PEOPLE?????????
I think this whole thing has been blown up into something when you can clearly tell it was a joke from two comedians... people need to start looking at more serious issues about our country.
