Britney Spears sectioned by psychiatrist

Chaos ensues at singer's home following attempted suicide report

Britney Spears was reported to have tried to commit suicide last night.

Police officers and hoards of paparazzi arrived outside the gates of the singer’s Summit Circle home in LA as the news spread.

But while her psychiatriast is said to be deeply concerned about the troubled star, claims that she tried to take her own life have been dismissed.

Even so, the mum-of-two was in such a state that she will be sectioned under the US 5150 hold – meaning she is a danger to herself and others.

An ambulance took Brit to the UCLA Medical Center at around 1:35 am. It is thought she will stay there for 72 hours.

Brit's mum Lynne and paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib travelled in the same car to follow her en route.

The startling scenes echo those on 3 January when Britney had a custody stand-off with police and had to be stretchered to hospital.

Meanwhile Adnan, 35, and manager Sam Lutfi, 33, are still said to be fueding over the 26-year-old.

E!online.com report that the pap gave her an ultimatum: him or Sam.

UPDATE: Britney's parents Jamie and Lynne Spears are now said to be rowing with Sam Lutfi about what kind of medical treatment she should get.
