Sir Paul McCartney's sheep could be at risk from foot and mouth

Animal lover Sir Paul McCartney’s been caught up in the UK's foot and mouth scare – his sheep are at risk of catching the disease.

An outbreak of the virus started in Surrey earlier this month and more than 500 animals have had to be destroyed

Vegetarian Macca, 65, has a flock of Highland sheep at his estate in Peamarsh, East Sussex.

Tests are being carried out in Romney Marsh, 12 miles from where Sir Paul lives, reports the Daily Star.

But it could be good news. Authorities sealed off a Kent farm and Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo in Surrey yesterday but preliminary tests have found no foot and mouth at either site.
