Cheryl Cole slams The X Factor

Girls Aloud star thinks lowering age range to 14 isn’t a good move

Cheryl Cole has slammed The X Factor – because this year the show's producers are letting contestants as young as 14 audition.

The Girls Aloud star, 24, reckons that kids that age are too young to cope with fame.

And she knows, as she was only 19 when she won a place in the new girl band created by Popstars: The Rivals.

‘At that age you’re very delicate,’ Cheryl tells The Sun.

‘You are going through your teenage years which are the craziest of your life. You don’t quite know if you’re coming or going or who you are.

‘To have someone criticise you when you’re that young is very hard.

'Give them a few years, a chance to finish school and they’ll be ready.’
