Nicola Roberts splits with boyfriend
Girls Aloud's Nicola Roberts has broken up with her boyfriend of five years.
The singer, 21, has dated student Carl Egerton since she was 16 but last week the couple decided that the time had come for them to part ways.
'This is definitely it, they're not getting back together,' a source tells the Daily Mirror. 'They've been at each other's throats for ages. One day last week, in the middle of a heated argument, something just snapped and Nicola decided enough was enough.'
But instead of moping at home, Nicola is making the most of her new single status by going out partying in skimpy mini-dresses.
'It's almost as if a huge weight has been lifted from her shoulders,' the source says. 'She now has more confidence and is looking forward to leading the single life for a bit.
'She has seen Sarah Harding and the others do it, now she just wants a bit of fun too.'
