Tom Cruise is a Hollywood turn-off

Mr Hanks is Mr Poplular instead

Film fans have rated Tom Cruise as the actor they least like to watch on the big screen.

One in three people said they'd avoid anything featuring the Top Gun star and only 12 per cent of respondants to the poll said they were in favour of watching the 44-year-old's films.

Angelina Jolie also failed to hit big in the popularity stakes with 18 per cent shunning her movies while Mel Gibson scored 15 per cent in the Gallup survey which was published in trade magazine Editor and Publisher.

But it seems that cinema-goers can't get enough of another Tom. Tom Hanks topped the list of America's favoutite actors.
