Anne Diamond had gastric weight loss op - twice

The TV star had stomach surgery for a second time to tie up loose ends

Anne Diamond has revealed that the reason she didn't lose weight when she first had a gastric band fitted was because it had been put in the wrong place.

The 52-year-old joined Celebrity Fit Club earlier this year but was booted out in February for cheating when her secret became known. But she says she didn't have an unfair advantage over the other contestants at all.

‘I became convinced that I was the only person in the entire planet for whom the gastric band just didn’t work,' she says in an article for The Daily Mail.

'But it was in the wrong place. It had not been positioned around the top part of the stomach as it should be, it had been placed hanging loose, around the end of the oesophagus.'

The divorced mum of four, who had the first op in Belgium, has now had surgery in the UK to correct the procedure and is very happy after dropping 4st and five dress sizes.

She says: ‘My gastric band hasn’t just given me my body back, it has given me my life back. That might seem drastic but obesity can wreck lives.’
