X Factor finalists help raise lots of money for Help For Heroes

The X Factor contestants’ version of David Bowie‘s Heroes is No 1 in the single chart.

The charity tune – featuring all 16 finalists – sold 144,000 copies in its first week of sale.

All money raised will go to Help For Heroes to pay for recovery centres for wounded soldiers.

In 2008, The X Factor finalists covered Mariah Carey‘s Hero for the charity.

It raised £1.3million for a rehabilitation complex in Headley Court.

David, 63, first released Heroes in 1977, when it reach No 24 in the charts.
