  • Gary Barlow has repeatedly criticised Rylan Clark's vocals

Rylan Clark is hoping to perform with Gary Barlow if he reaches the The X Factor final.

The Essex boy has enjoyed a famously tense relationship with Gary, 41, throughout the live shows and thinks them getting on stage together would make great TV.

'If I was to get to the final I'd be honoured to duet with Barlow,' says Rylan.

'I think that would be a television moment. It would definitely go down in history if me and "Borelow" duet together, 100%.'

Rylan, 24 - who made it to the quarter-finals last weekend - made a joke about Gary's weight after the Take That singer criticised his performance on Saturday night.

But he's sure Gary has forgiven him for his cheeky backchat.

'I've spoken to Gary. Gary loved it, he's banter Barlow, I love Gary,' Rylan tells Metro.

'He's the sort of person that if he dishes it out he's got to expect it back and he totally gets that.'
