X Factor star Jahmene Douglas: I think clubbing is repulsive and sex before marriage is wrong
The lad from Swindon impressed the judges on Saturday night's show after performing the Etta James tune At Last but sensible Jahmene, who moved his proud mum to tears with his rendition, won't be swayed by fame.
‘I'm strong willed,' says Jahmene, 21.
‘I can't stand clubbing, it's repulsive. I'd rather go somewhere classy like a restaurant.
‘I'd like to get married one day. I don't believe in sex before marriage or sex before love. It has to be right. It's all about love at the end of the day.'
Supermarket worker Jahmene, whose elder brother Daniel died last year, is also proud of his religious beliefs.
The hopeful admits that saying a prayer helps him to deal with all the attention he's now getting.
‘I won't be distracted, I can handle things,' the singer tells the Daily Star.
‘I prayed before the audition, it calmed me down, and I will continue to pray. It's all overwhelming but I think I have the confidence to deal with it now.'
