Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Thelma Madine isn't a fan of Kate Middleton's fashion sense.
The wedding dress designer reckons Kate, 30, should take inspiration from the travelling community and wear something a little wilder.
'I think she's a bit boring,' says Thelma, 59.
'She can't be anything else really, so you can't blame the girl, but I like people to be a bit more outrageous.'
In her new TV series Thelma's Gypsy Girls, Thelma teaches a group of travellers dressmaking skills in order to help them find employment.
While she's now a successful businesswoman, 10 years ago she served four months behind bars for benefit fraud after claiming £10,700 of state money when she was running a market stall in Liverpool.
'The sentence was a huge shock and a real low point. But
in a strange way going to prison was the best thing that could have
happened to me,' says Thelma.
'It taught me not to judge people
and to get to know them first - a lesson that's stood me in good stead
with the travelling community.'
