Danny O'Donoghue was a judge on BBC show The Voice

Organisers have been forced to cancel The Voice UK Live tour because of poor ticket sales.

The BBC talent show's 8 finalists - including winner Leanne Mitchell and runners-up Bo Bruce and Tyler James - were set to play in 11 cities around the country.

But not enough people were interested in buying tickets after viewing figures slumped to 4.5 million for the semi-final in May.

'People have short memories when it comes to TV acts,' a TV source tells the Daily Mirror.

'Clearly Leanne and co did not make a lasting impression.

'This is hardly going to help when it comes to getting people to audition for the show on BBC1 next year either.'

The Voice's road show isn't the first of its kind to be axed - last year bosses cancelled the Britain's Got Talent live tour and they haven't announced any 2012 dates.

Unfortunately for some of the The Voice's contestants, it appears they're yet to be informed of the organisers' decision.

'Noone told me the tour was cancelled?! I'd of been there in September like yeah bro let's get this shit going! Guess not,' Tweets singer Becky Hill.
