The choir that saved The Voice's Ruth Brown
She's stunned us all with her powerful voice on The Voice..
But Ruth Brown, 20, wouldn't have had the guts to get up on stage today if it hadn't been for her school choir.
Ruth was so badly bullied about her weight by a 'gang of 10' at school that she had to transfer to Wallington High School For Girls in Surrey.
But Ruth, then 16, found strength by singing in the gospel choir.
Headmistress Barbara Greatorex says: 'Our school's highly academic and although Ruth didn't meet that criteria, we made an exception for her. We're very proud of her.'
