Michael McIntyre won't be appearing on the new series of Britain's Got Talent, which kicks off in early 2012

Michael McIntyre has given up his judging job on Britain's Got Talent after just one series, while Amanda Holden has confirmed that she's staying.

Stand-up comedian Michael is planning a 100-date tour to keep him busy instead.

'I absolutely loved being a judge but have been itching to get back on stage myself,' says Michael, 35.

'I wish the show and production team every success.'

Fellow panellist David Hasselhoff, 59, is reportedly also being replaced but Amanda, 40, has Tweeted that she's 'going no where x', despite her pregnancy.

'Michael was a fantastic addition to the BGT judging panel,' an ITV spokesman tells The Sun.

'We wish him all the very best with his tour and look forward to working with him again.'
