X Factor survivor Katie Waissel gets new 'tattoo' after pep talk with Cheryl Cole
Katie was euphoric after escaping the bottom two on Sunday's live show, but devastated by tabloid allegations that her 81-year-old granny Sheila Vogel is a vintage escort, advertising her services on website Vintage Vamps.
After a half-hour chat with her mentor Cheryl Cole, a distraught Katie vowed to 'fight on.'
'Cheryl was so brilliant at helping me. She gave me the strength to carry on in the competition,' Katie told friends, reports the Daily Record.
'She was telling me about when stories were written about how her brother was in prison and how it is very hard to cope.
'She knows how it feels to have negative attention and her advice was brilliant.
'I'm going to fight to show everyone I deserve my place here.'
Katie, 24, displayed her new artwork on a shopping trip in Battersea this week.
The inked message reads: 'Be strong, stay strong, fate will prevail, 24/7.'
