Christine Bleakley has admitted that she left The One Show because she missed Adrian Chiles.
The presenter, 31, who recently signed a £4 million contract with ITV to front breakfast show Daybreak alongside her former co-host, says money was nothing to do with her decision to leave the BBC.
'The One Show was my life and the team were like family to me so it was a big enough step to leave all of that but ultimately I missed him [Adrian] terribly,' she explains.
'We just had so much fun on a daily basis and when he went it just doesn't feel right - the sparkle wasn't there any more.'
Adrian, 43, who left The One Show 2 months before Christine to join ITV for £6million, has hit out at BBC chiefs, blaming them for his exit.
'We were both put under intolerable pressure,' he claims. 'The programme lost its soul.'
Adrian also echoes Christine's sentiments about their working relationship.
'At all costs I felt we had to be together again,' he reveals.
BBC directo-general Mark Thompson says: 'I don't think it was intolerable pressure anything like that.
'I sincerely wish them well.'
Daybreak starts Monday 6 September on ITV.
