Vanessa Perroncel has rubbished claims she had an affair with married footballer John Terry.
The model was alleged to have had a 4-month fling in late 2009 with the Chelsea footballer after she split from his former teammate Wayne Bridge.
'We were friends. That's what we were,' says Vanessa, 33.
'I denied [the claims] from the start but people didn't want to hear. I've never said, "Oh yes, I've had an affair with John Terry." I said, "No, he was my friend."'
Vanessa has also denied allegations that John, 29, paid her to keep quiet about the rumoured fling.
'Absolutely not. I didn't take a penny from him,' she tells GMTV.
Vanessa - who contacted John's wife Toni Poole after the rumours broke to reassure her - hopes she'll be able to rekindle her romance with Wayne, the father of her 3-year-old son Jaydon.
'It would be lovely, but you know, Wayne might not feel that way,' she adds.
John and Toni got married in June 2007.
They are parents to 4-year-old twins Summer and Georgie.
