Ant and Dec scooped their first award at the British Academy Film And Televion Awards last night.

Nominated 6 times during their 20-year career on television, Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 35, picked up the award for Entertainment Performance for fronting ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

'You feed a couple of kangaroo testicles to a glamour model and you get a Bafta,' joked Ant.

Simon Cowell was presented with a Special Award for his contributions to television, while his show Britain's Got Talent won its first BAFTA for Entertainment Programme.

In the acting categories, Kenneth Branagh, 49, was named Best Actor for his performance in Wallander, while Julie Walters, 60, won Best Actress for Mo.

Kate Winslet, 34, Kristen Stewart, 20, and Barbara Windsor, 72, were just some of the stars who attended the television bash.

The event was hosted by Graham Norton at the London Palladium.
