Robert Pattinson was born to dad Richard and mum Clare in London in 1986. He has two older sisters called Victoria and Elizabeth, who is known as Lizzy.

The young star grew up in Barnes and was educated at the Tower House School and The Harrodian School. He always wanted to act.

Rob did some modelling work in his early teens but has said that he wasn’t very successful.

His first acting role came in 2004 flick Vanity Fair. Unfortunately his scenes were cut and only appeared on the DVD version.

The following year he played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but his big break came in 2008 when he starred as vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight.

Rob had incredible chemistry with co-star Kristen Stewart and the movie was a huge success. Four more films in the saga were made, with the final instalment released in 2012.

Robert Pattinson was catapulted to fame and became an international sex symbol. He started dating Kristen Stewart and their on and off screen romance fascinated fans.

The actor continued to star in other films away from Twilight, including Remember Me and Water for Elephants.

His relationship with Kristen Stewart hit the headlines in July 2012 when she admitted to cheating with married film director Rupert Sanders.

Kristen issued a public apology to Rob after photos of her in a clinch with Rupert emerged in the press.

The couple happily posed together while promoting The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 a few months later in November 2012 and were seen holding hands at the London premiere.

It’s thought that they finally split in May 2013, but rumours continued to circulate that they’re back together.

Since the end of Twilight, Robert Pattinson has starred in less mainstream films like Cosmopolis and The Rover.

He has always been musical, having contributed a tune to the Twilight soundtrack, and in 2014 he expressed an interest in recording an album.

His sister Lizzy auditioned for The X Factor in the same year and Rob said he was ‘ridiculously proud’ of her.
