Chris Brown has been ordered to stay away from Rihanna

Chris Brown has recorded a video to publicly apologise for attacking his ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The 20-year-old pleaded guilty on 22 June to assaulting the Umbrella star in February.

In the two-minute clip, Chris calls what he did 'inexcusable' and asks for forgiveness.   

‘I thought it was time that you heard directly from me that I am sorry,’ he says. ‘I am very sad and very ashamed of what I have done.’

Chris told viewers he's repeatedly apologised to Rihanna, 21, and continues to seek help to ensure it never happens again.  

He will be sentenced next month.
