Brooke Shields was reduced to tears as she shared her memories of Michael Jackson yesterday.
The actress led tributes to the singer at a public memorial service at the Stapels Centre in LA.
‘To the outside world Michael was a genius of unchallenged ability, to the people who were lucky enough to know him personally, he was caring and funny, honest, pure, non-jaded and he was a lover of life,’ said Brooke, 44.
‘He cared so deeply for his family and his friends and his fans. He was often referred to as the King but the Michael that I knew always reminded me more of the Little Prince…His truth resided in his heart. Michael saw everything with his heart.’
Brooke also revealed she and Michael, 50, acted like a pair of kids ahead of Elizabeth Taylor's wedding to Larry Fortensky in 1991.
‘It was the night before the big day and we tried to sneak in to get the first peek of the dress,’ she said.
‘We almost passed out in hysterics when we realised Elizabeth was actually asleep in the bed.’
