'Fix' fury after song performed by Diana Vickers is chosen as winner's song
Tuesday, 25 November 2008
The remaining X Factor acts are said to be up in arms over the choice of the winner’s debut track.
The finalists are said to be angry that Hallelujah has been selected – a song Diana Vickers performed in the boot camp stages of the show.
The other contestants are said to feel the judges are favouring the 17-year-old from Lancashire.
‘Tempers are running high. They feel it is just the latest in a series of stunts that have left them wondering if the competition has already been won,' a source tells The Mirror.
‘Many suspect producers are paving the way for Diana. They feel even if the public put her in the bottom 2, the judges will always save her.’
Diana became the subject of controversy after she was given a free pass to the next round after missing a show due to illness.
The single Hallelujah, a cover of a Leonard Cohen song, will be released by the winner on 15 December.
