Dirty Diegos set to become real-life group

Hollyoaks are set to release a single by the soap's band Dirty Diegos.

The group - formed on the show by characters Josh Ashworth (Sonny Flood), Michaela McQueen (Hollie-Jay Bowes), Sasha Valentine (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) – are to become a real-life band when their track is released this month.

The song, a cover of the Dimestars hit Play, is to be promoted by a performance on the Channel 4 show.

'It's really exciting and took me totally by surprise,' Hollie-Jay admits.

‘I didn't think Hollyoaks were serious when they told me - but the next thing I know, we're shooting a video!’

Play is released on 24 November.
