Pete Doherty has written a special song for Amy Winehouse to celebrate her 24th birthday.
The Babyshambles singer put pen to paper and wrote the number – entitled Amy On The Mend – in a bid to cheer up the troubled star.
‘Pete wanted Amy to have a lovely birthday,’ a source tells the Daily Star.
‘He knows she’s been through a lot of late. So he wrote her a special song.’
Pete, 28, is currently in The Clouds rehab centre in Salisbury struggling to kick his drug addiction.
He obviously has great admiration for Amy because he compares her to Boudica (previously known as Boadicea), the Celtic queen who led an uprising against the Romans.
Here's a little snatch of the lyrics...
‘Amy on the mend, all that passion to spend… Like a paper Boadicea in a battle to the end, end, end. ’
For her big day on 14 September, Amy also received a guitar from hubby Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, and a vintage juke box.
