As soon as Kate Moss floated in to the Topshop spring/summer 07 show at London Fashion Week in her vintage, high-waisted Chloe jeans, every girl in the land suddenly shoved her best-loved pair of skinnies to the back of the wardrobe, ready to embrace the 'new' jean trend.

And we all breathed a collective sigh of relief, because, if Kate stops wearing them, then we too can turn our back on them, guilt-free. Goodbye muffin tops. Adios undignified flashes of thong escaping up your lower back. Come back flares, please forgive us for shunning you.
