EastEnders wins Best Soap at TV Choice Awards

Coronation Street also gets special gong

Lacey Turner was named Best Soap Actress

EastEnders was the big winner at last night's TV Choice Awards.

The BBC show was named Best Soap and star Lacey Turner took home the Best Soap Actress prize. 

Coronation Street received a Special Award to celebrate its upcoming 50th anniversary. 

Emmerdale walked away with 3 gongs, including Best Soap Actor for Danny Miller and his character Aaron Livesy's gay plot was named Best Soap Storyline.  

Other winners included Doctor Who for Best Family Drama and Britain's Got Talent for Best Talent Show.

Stars at the event at London's Dorchester Hotel included Kerry Katona, Holly Willoughby, Karen Gillan and Michelle Keegan.
