Katy Perry to star in Smurfs film
Katy Perry is being lined-up to star in a movie version of hit 1980s cartoon The Smurfs.
The singer, 25, who is engaged to Russell Brand, 34, is tipped to voice the part of Smurfette.
British actor Alan Cumming has been linked to the role of Gutsy Smurf.
And How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris could also join the cast.
Raja Gosnell is in talks to direct, reports Variety.
The film is due for release in 2011.
