Twins add shades to fashion range

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are often seen out in over-sized shades

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are set to launch a new range of designer sunglasses.

The superstar twins will add a collection of vintage-inspired shades to their luxury clothing and accessories label The Row.

‘Designing eyewear was definitely more complicated than we thought, and of course, we wanted to be extremely hands-on,' says Mary-Kate.

The collection looks to include a 4 different silhouettes, including classic metal aviators and round 60s-style eyewear.

Mary-Kate recently debuted a sample design from the range during London Fashion Week - an oversized pair with a square frame.

‘We're testing the market first,' Ashley tells explains.

‘So we're seeing what people are responding to and we'll open up a couple more silhouettes for fall.'

The new range is a collaboration with Linda Farrow Eyewear and is due to launch in spring 2010.
