Kim Catrall was recently awarded a star on Canada's Walk Of Fame

Kim Cattrall found out her grandfather was a bigamist while filming BBC show Who Do You Think You Are?

The Sex And The City actress was determined to discover what happened to her mother’s dad, George Baugh, after he disappeared in 1938.

But Kim, 52, was left reeling when it emerged he remarried, without divorcing her grandmother first, and had three more children.

‘The most difficult thing was telling my mother and her sisters the truth of what became of their father,’ she tells Saturday magazine.

‘I felt I was ruining their last fantastic hope of what became of him. He was unremarkable except in his selfishness.’

Rather than living abroad as his family suspected, George was living just 40 miles away in Manchester.
