Former GMTV host Eamonn Holmes reckons that working with teeny female colleagues made him look overweight on camera.
‘Most of the women I have worked with are little birds – I mean, they wear a size 6,’ says Eamonn.
‘A lot of them are actually in children’s clothes. - as a bloke you stand no chance next to them. Little wonder people called me fat even 10 years ago.'
Eamonn, 49, is now attempting to lose 20lb for new ITV series The Feelgood Factor but hates being reminded about his size.
'People slap my belly all the time, and the truth is, it really hacks me off,' he tells Weekend.
So why is he doing the show?
'It would be nice to get into a pair of jeans or wear a T-shirt in the summer without worrying about man boobs,' he admits. 'Physically, I'm in a place right now where I don't want to be.'
