Singer struggled to deal with the media attention
Wednesday, 26 November 2008
Cheryl Cole admits she was insecure when she first joined Girls Aloud six years ago.
The X Factor judge rose to fame on ITV show Popstars: The Rivals when she was just 19.
‘To be honest, I didn’t eat or sleep, I barely breathed through worry of what people were thinking of us,’ she says.
‘But never once did I think, none of this is worth it.’
Cheryl, 25, has now grown used to the media frenzy surrounding her life.
‘All I can say is, we obviously make interesting news to be put on the front cover, so that’s a positive thing,’ she says. ‘We sell papers.’
Sarah Harding, 27, Nicola Roberts, 23, Kimberley Walsh, 27, and Nadine Coyle, 23, are also in Girls Aloud.

It seems ridiculous, yet refreshing, looking back on this that a figure now so firmly entrenched in the UK's music industry should have had doubts! BTW, If you haven't heard their latest album which was out earlier this month, you can listen to if for free on We7. Hannah - We7
