Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie looks super-cool with her high ponytail and quiff in the video for Gettin' Over You, her No 1 hit with David Guetta.

Andy Smith, artistic director of John Carne Hairdressing, tells you how to re-create Fergie's look:

1. 'First, wash and prepare hair using a strong-hold styling mousse such as Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Grip [£7.95] and a styling cream such as Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Buff  [£10.45]. Then blow-dry hair smooth.'

2. 'Next, take a section from the front of the hairline, creating a half-moon shape, and put to one side. Gather all the hair behind this, comb into a high ponytail on top of the crown and firmly secure.'
 
3. 'To create the front quiff, take a 1cm deep section through the fringe and leave this out, then lightly backcomb the hair behind. This look can't be acheived naturally, so place a half-doughnut-shaped support behind, pulling the hair over the top and pinning into the desired shape.'

4. 'Take the untouched fringe section and pin over the support - this will keep the top of the hair looking smooth and glossy. To finish, use Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Freeze [£7.75] and Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS Sparkler [£9.75] to hold and add shine.'
