Actress makes announcement while campaigning for gay rights

Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni got engaged last month

Cynthia Nixon and girlfriend Christine Marinoni are planning to get married.

The couple, who have been together for 6 years, made the announcement at the Love, Peace And Marriage Equality rally in New York.

Sex And The City star Cynthia, 43, and Christine are currently supporting the new gay rights bill proposed by Governor David Paterson, reports E! Online. They want legal equality for same-sex unions.

The couple got together shortly after Cynthia split from long-term partner Danny Mozes, with whom she has 2 children, Samantha, 14, and Charles, 8.
