Alexa Chung works the smoky eyes make-up look

Alexa Chung's smoky eyes are her style signature.

Celebrity make-up artist Vanesa Guallar, brand ambassador for Boots 17 - who has powdered the noses of celebrities such as Cheryl Cole and Alexa - reveals how to recreate her look.

'Smoky eyes can be done with any colour, so don't be shy to experiment!' she explains.

Alexa likes browns, bronzes and golds for a softer look than classic blacks and greys.

'Draw a fine line from the inner corner of your top lids making it thicker towards the outer corners with a dark brown eye pencil.

'With a soft blending eye shadow, use a soft brush to add intensity around the eyeliner and blend with a lighter shade on inner corner. Sweep a glittery shade across your top of the lid to open up your eye.

'Finish with a lick of liquid eyeliner, finishing with a flick at the outer corners and a coat of mascara.'
