Coldplay apparently want Girls Aloud to support them at a one-off gig next year.
Chris Martin, 31, is said to have asked Cheryl Cole, 25, Nadine Coyle, 23, Nicola Roberts, 23, Sarah Harding, 27, and Kimberley Walsh, 27 – to perform at Wembley on 18 September 2009.
‘Coldplay are huge pop fans,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘They love Take That and all the mainstream chart stuff.
'Girls Aloud are the ideal support group. They will get the Wembley crowd worked up into a frenzy before the main attraction.
'Chris Martin is a fan and had them on his wish-list from the start of tour plans.’
Meanwhile, Oasis star Liam Gallagher, 36, claims they are better than Coldplay.
‘I don’t give a shit about them,’ he tells Loaded. ‘We are the coolest band and we are the best f***ing band. We are the most important band.’
