Sid Owen signs up for comeback, as Kate Moss and Sadie Frost are lined up, too

EastEnders favourite Sid Owen – aka Ricky Butcher – is set to return to the BBC soap.

Patsy Palmer is back in Albert Square next March as ex-screen wife Bianca and now the actor has signed a deal to reprise his role as dopey mechanic Ricky.

‘I'm over the moon they have asked me to come back,’ says Sid, 35. ‘I'm looking forward to working with Patsy again, although not to her nagging me by shouting Ricky's name.’

Ricky exited in 2004 after finding out screen sister Janine had killed pal Barry Evans. When he returns he will be in the money and have a WAG-style fiancée.

But Bianca will be in the opposite situation, as a single mum down on her luck.

‘First Patsy comes home, now Sid!’ EastEnders boss Diederick Santer tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I'm thrilled.’

Kate Moss and Sadie Frost are also being lined up to make a special appearance in the BBC soap to celebrate Bianca’s return.

Kate, 33, and Sadie – who are good pals of Patsy, 35 - will be spotted in the background as Bianca hunts for bargains at the Bridge Street market.

'Obviously it’ll mean dressing the girls cheaply but they’re up for that,' a source tells the Daily Star. 'Think Bri-nylon, Satinette and Lycra.'
