It's all about bright colours, right?

Well, not if you copy Caroline.

‘It'll be more subtle this year,' says Clairol colour advisor Jonathan Long.

‘The focus will be on making the tips just a few shades lighter than the roots.'

How to do the 'do

To get an even spread of colour, divide your hair into bunches and apply the dye to the bottom section.

Jonathan advises only going three shades lighter than your natural colour.

He adds: ‘Create some loose curls to soften the line between the two shades, either by tonging sections or with heated rollers.'
