Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan ignored American Vogue's editor Anna Wintour's advice to wear a short dress to the Academy Awards, and chose a Miu Miu floor-sweeper instead.

On the SKY News Oscar coverage with Kay Burley, Now's Style Editor Alison Tay advised, 'We all know that Judi Dench is an icon of Carey's but it doesn't mean she has to dress like her.

'Carey's got the whole Mia Farrow look going on. She should be wearing 60s-inspired shifts like Rosemary's Baby.'
