Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has entered a private clinic in Europe suffering from exhaustion.
The 25-year-old's health woes have been attributed to the pressures surrounding the band's recent line-up change, which saw Keisha Buchanan replaced by Jade Ewan.
‘Unfortunately, Amelle has been forced to take an unexpected short break away from the pressures of work, following some professional medical advice earlier this week,' reads a statement on the band's website.
‘It seems that with all the recent events in the band, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion.'
The band has cancelled a performance in Leeds this Sunday and an appearance on German TV.
‘Although we know this news all comes as a huge disappointment to Sugababes fans, we really do have to treat Amelle's welfare as our priority at times like this,' they add.
Sugababes also pulled out of a performance at the Scottish Royal Variety Performance last week due to legal issues.
Heidi Range and Jade expect Amelle to make a full recovery by November.
