Sharon Osbourne has accepted libel damages over a newspaper claim that she was driving her husband Ozzy to 'destruction'.
The Sun published an article in October 2007 alleging that she was risking the Black Sabbath rocker's life by working him too hard.
Her solicitor told London’s High Court that the story was both ’entirely without foundation’ and ‘extremely distressing, hurtful and damaging.’
Sharon, 56, who not in court for the settlement, received libel damages, an apology and costs.
‘Sharon is delighted to have won her case,’ a spokesman tells the BBC.
‘She would prefer not to have to take legal action against the media, but had no alternative in this case. Sharon and Ozzy are pleased that they can put this matter behind them.’
Patrick Callaghan, solitor for News Group Newspapers, said it accepted that the allegations were untrue and ought never to have been published.
