First sign of the zodiac, born at the beginning of the pagan New Year- the springtime- Aries is bursting with energy, enthusiasm and all the vigour of the growing season.

Fast talking, fast acting, dynamic types, you won’t catch Aries sitting around pondering the Yins and the Yangs of a situation. In fact you’ll scarcely ever find Aries sitting around at all.

Aries doesn’t do introspection. Ever. Probably can’t even spell it.

Aries demands results not theories. These types want action and plenty of it. They’re drawn to exciting sports, danger, white knuckle rides and endless stimulation. With Aries as a companion you’ll never be bored. Exhausted maybe, but not bored.

Aries is born to lead. Courageous, strong and bubbling with confidence for the very good reason that they’ve never had time to cultivate pointless self-doubt – people born under this sign are usually highly successful at whatever they choose to do.

They’re famed for getting things done because they’re impatient, tireless and won’t rest until a project’s off the ground. The only downside to this approach is that once things are running smoothly, Aries tends to get bored and wanders off in search of the next challenge.

They’re great on the big picture but loathe the picky detail. For this reason Aries should make the most of their exceptional talents by appointing a second in command to take over the routine stuff.

Above all Aries should try to avoid situations where they’re required to take orders. Aries can only give orders, not take them and this can lead to friction when they find themselves lumbered with authoritarian employers.

The symbol of the ram sums up the Aries personality nicely. Aries has many enormously positive qualities but subtlety is not among them.

What you see is what you get with Aries. They drive themselves hard, get impatient with others who can’t keep up and will find it very hard to conceal their annoyance.

But the great thing about an Aries temper tantrum is that it’s soon over and once peace is restored no grudge will be held. In fact Aries will genuinely struggle to remember that harsh words were exchanged at all.

Aries in Love

There’s no doubt that Aries is a demanding lover and only the other fire signs- Leo and Sagittarius will have the stamina and bravado to keep up with ease.

It’s not that Aries can’t do romance- in fact deep down Aries has got a wonderfully romantic streak and is quite capable of falling madly head over heels- it’s just that those types find it difficult to express their feelings in a poetic way.

Gifts are likely to be extravagant but practical and dates more likely to involve sport or wild parties than walking hand in hand under the stars.

And though Aries won’t take no for an answer and will bombard you with calls, texts and emails- if things start getting dull and you fail to remain a challenge, Aries will be off to pastures new.
