Doctor Who past and present: Third times a charm for Jon Pertwee
Jon Pertwee took over the role in early 1971 for a total of 5 series, with his final appearance in the episode Planet Of The Spiders in June 1974. The 1996 film reprisal was later dedicated to Jon after his untimely death a few days before it was aired.
