Patrick Troughton played the second Doctor for a run of 3 years from September 1966 until June 1969. Unfortunately, many of Patrick’s early episodes as the Doctor were wiped from the BBC archives.

He played the excentric Doctor extremely well, IMO, and I credit him with starting that trait which all future doctors had to a greater or lesser extent,
